So, this is my first review for Lovelies!
I was thinking about it shortly, I wasn’t exactly sure if I would do it but in the end I decided I should.
Gay Authors is a website that uploads and links gay stories from many different gay authors. That much is obvious but it’s also a site that offers supports for writers through their forum. That can be very useful and there’s also a section made especially for gay or questioning teenagers.
The Archives holds up many stories, up to 435 and all in different Genres. All stories have a small “card” of information and a small resume of the stories.
Author status:
The Author status is if the author is either a member, hosted or none of them (which is represented by a blank space). Hosted, they have their own site I believe. Members, they have their story uploaded on the site and the stories often appear in a directory. And then there’s the one with a blank. Those are no longer linked or the site is not working anymore.
Series:
Some stories archived will have more then one book. When it’s the case it’s labeled as a series.
Views, Views/Day:
How much views the story had in total or how many a day.
Genres:
There are many genres listed in the site. There’s a section in the site where you can browse the archive by genre. Some of the principal ones are; Fanfictions, Fantasy, Historical, Horror, Modern, Mystery, Poetry and Science Fictions.
Date linked:
That’s for when the story had been linked of course. That gives a rough idea if the story is older then some.
Story codes:
Each story has their code. There’s another section in the site that explains those codes. For example here we have tt, which means two teenage boys. Mt would mean an adult male with a teenage boy. And oral, that means that there is a boy giving sexual, oral performance for another boy in this story somewhere.
Status:
the story can be either complete or in progress.
Rating:
Here most or the stories are supposed to be rated for up to ten. But I noted that stories very rarely are fewer than 6. I concluded after a while that a 7/10 means that it’s not particularly good, 8/10 is average and 9/10 and up is what you want to look for.

To vote you have to be a member of the site.
All and all, the site is not bad. The layout isn’t that good but it serves its purpose. If I would have one complain is that the stories has nothing to do with Yaoi. This is strictly gay. That means that there isn’t the romance quality like there is in some Yaoi book. It’s mostly smutty stories heavily influenced by male writing. So no boys pretty like a girl and no shy writing, sometimes I’d say the writing is somewhat crude.
I had picked up a story that I thought I might find good. It was fairly rated high so I had no worries. But I soon found myself reading “I shot up my wad.” And many other sentences like that. Most relations in those stories begin early. First sexually, then love comes after. I didn’t like that fact since it feels like most stories didn’t have that tension that I favor in Male/Male stories. It’s really just for the smut.
But it’s a good site. I’ve found few stories that I at least liked and hopefully some of you might too. Gay stories are eye opening and made me appreciate more the Yaoi stories as they are. (Because I used to complain about how all boys were effeminate there.) But a good real gay story here and there is definitely welcomed by me.
